WELCOME

Careers England is the trade association for employer organisations in career education and guidance in England. As the only association of specialist career guidance businesses in the country, we exist to promote the benefits to the nation of utilising the distinctive skills of such organisations.

From our perspective as specialist career guidance employers, our strategic direction majors upon advocacy of the economic and social benefits of career guidance to the health of the nation, and the need for an effective all-age strategy for career guidance provision in England

Careers England is the informed employer voice of career guidance businesses in England. We currently provide publicly-funded career-related services to young people and/or adults in more than two-thirds of England’s 152 Local Authority areas (that is those LA areas which include responsibility for Children’s and Young People’s services, formerly described as Local Education Authority areas). The link here will take you to the page showing where our Members provide services for young people (13-19) and Adults (19+) in the nine English Regions.

The services that our Members provide promote achievement and economic well being for all.

We work with central and local government, with others involved in the planning and procurement of career information, advice and guidance services, with policy advisers and with strategic bodies to achieve the strategic investment and policy framework that is essential to the provision of effective career guidance services throughout working life.

There is a strong base on which to build the partnerships that will help us to achieve our vision of a world class, all-age guidance system in England.
