Apprenticeships Task Group

The apprenticeship task group looks at the unique role of CEIAG in the recruitment, retention and progression of apprenticeships, how to make the most of the Levy, recruiting more higher level apprentices, and how careers guidance skills could be adapted to support apprentices e.g. through ongoing mentoring and support. The group is made up of representatives from organisations that are members of Careers England, and meets 2-3 times per year to plan and support lobbying, influencing activities and thought leadership.

Chair: Laura Bell – CfBT

Vice-Chair: Olly Newton – Edge Foundation

Apprenticeship task group objectives:

  • To develop a Careers England position statement on career decision-making and apprenticeships, which will be reviewed annually
  • To collect, disseminate and promote good practice relating to CEIAG, apprenticeships and technical education
  • To identify emerging issues relating to CEIAG, apprenticeships and technical education, particularly round quality and engagement of parents
  • To offer policy makers and influencers an informed viewpoint on all issues relating to careers and apprenticeships
  • To carry out requests as necessary as directed by the Careers England Board
  • To provide an overview and source of comment on developments in technical education
